THE STEPMOMS RELEASE NEW SINGLE - "PARADISE LOST"

Chocolate and peanut butter. Jameson and pickle juice. Mercury and Bowie. What's the theme here? You guessed it: great tastes that taste great together. Speaking of which, why aren't more bands combining Pop Punk with Ska horns and synth? Is that something we didn't know we needed? Well, fear not, brave souls, The Stepmoms are here to answer that question and spoiler alert: the answer is hell yes.
Being an Atlanta resident myself, I can tell you that Gainesville, Georgia isn't the hot-bed of Punk and Ska that you might think it is. In fact, before this review, I was pretty sure that scene didn't exist, which makes the very existence of such a solid band well against the odds.
Catchy and upbeat, "Paradise Lost" is a fitting homage to everything we love about Fishbone, A Simple Plan, and Mustard Plug all rolled into one very enjoyable single. The artists are clearly talented and the dual lead vocals work well together. I'd recommend this to anyone who loves feel-good mid-tempo Pop Punk, synth and a sexy, sexy sax. (Be honest though, we ALL love a sexy sax.)
Plus, they have by far the best music video shot solely in a bathroom stall that I've ever seen. By Far.
We added the single to our Underground Punk playlist on Spotify.
