Paris-based trio, The Bad Shots, recently unleashed their powerful debut EP, Powder Keg. A 4-track ride that's full of ripping instrumentals, hypnotic vocal flows, and impressive writing, this is an anthemic new release that's way too easy to leave on repeat. Any fan of the Punk, Alternative, or straight-up Rock n Roll world is going to be pleasantly surprised when they find that another big name in the scene may have just been born.
As we mentioned above, the writing is a serious stand out here. By blending elements of Punk, Alt-Rock, Garage Rock, and more, the band succeeds in delivering a style that feels nostalgic while at the same time new. That's not an easy feat, especially with the amount of music that's released nowadays. Each aspect of their writing is complimented by another. The vocals are boosted by the lyricism, the instrumentals by the dynamic sound, the production by the writing, and so on.
Each track also flows seamlessly into the next here. That's a big reason why this EP feels so complete and full. Our only complaint? We wish it was longer! By the time Powder Keg is over, all you'll want to do is hear more. That's exactly what an EP is supposed to do.
You can jam along to the new release in its entirety below. We also added a couple of our personal favorites to our Underground Indie & Alternative playlist on Spotify. If you like what you hear, make sure to follow The Bad Shots so you can stay on top of what else they have going on. Enjoy!
