OKPERFECT RELEASES NEW SINGLE - "WE WILL TAKE WHAT IS OURS WHEN THEY'RE DEAD AND GONE"
First off, let's address the elephant in the room: that is an incredibly wordy song title. Irrelevant? Possibly. But I'm a graphic designer by trade, and I don't even know how I'd fit that on the back of the album cover.
Now that we've gotten that out of the way, let's talk about Ontario. Canada's own OKPERFECT and their new single. (I'm not re-typing that whole thing.)
Oscillating between darker Emo and Post Hardcore, this song is powerful, with a big, soaring, epic sound that quite impressed me. It touches on the harms of complacency and it is pretty motivational, which earns my respect any day. The musicians are clearly talented, and the vocals are delivered emotionally, almost desperately by a singer who certainly has an unmistakable scream and a strong clean singing voice as well.
It's a great listen and an important message, so it gets my seal of approval.
We added the single to our Underground Punk and our HEAVY HEAVY HEAVY playlists on Spotify.
