HALFWAY TO NEPTUNE RELEASES NEW SINGLE - "JACKIE"
Jackie, the subject of Pop Punk band Halfway To Neptune’s new single, seems pretty cool. Some great punk songs have been written like this, (My Girlfriend by Blink 182, for instance) praising a girlfriend or wife who doesn’t get much recognition but helps keep the ship sailing and the creative juices flowing. Way to go, Jackie, we literally couldn’t do it without you.
Halfway To Neptune are a young but surprisingly professional quartet from Los Angeles, and while their sound fits snugly into the Pop Punk landscape, they have a certain understated maturity to their musicianship and lyrics that belie their age. Don’t misunderstand, this is a young band singing simple, happy, energetic songs about normal teenage subjects, but their writing is advanced, and their production, musical acumen, and arrangements are top-notch. Have a listen and smile for a change, ya grumpy old degenerate.
