CEMETERY DRIVE RELEASES NEW SINGLE - "FYAAYF"
Breakup songs are great, especially when approached from a funny, tongue-in-cheek vibe as opposed to the whole “I’m gonna boil your bunny” angle. That one gets a little scary and sometimes even a tad incriminating.
No, Pop Punk enthusiasts, Cemetery Drive aren’t heartbroken lovers or psychopathic, unpredictable exes, they’re handling it the healthy way. By writing an upbeat, cathartic and, dare I say, happy song about someone who isn’t particularly missed, and wasn’t particularly nice.
“FYAAYF” stands for F@$& You and All Your Friends, and if that’s not relatable, I don’t know what is. This song checks all the boxes: great song structure, impressive playing and vocals, and a chorus that’ll have everyone arm-in-arm, chanting in unison, dancing and having the time of their lives. There’s no anger here, no animosity to speak of. Just a simple, cheeky, smiling “Eff You” to all those who treated us badly. “Be nice, or I’ll make ya famous.” Makes my old heart proud-we need more of this.
