"Tear down the paper walls I hide behind, trace all the cracks through my crooked lines". NY Alt Metal outfit DREAMWVLKER voice the anguish of being misunderstood, and the fear of the judgment that follows being understood. We've all felt it and the band does an admirable job putting words and melody to that feeling. Incredibly tight and well-produced, DREAMWALKER are perhaps channeling and simultaneously evoking the same emotional sound that made Linkin Park so popular, and I mean that as a huge compliment. Big, bombastic drums, well-placed synth and an inspired juxtaposition of clean, dare I say 'pretty' vocals against well-executed growls and screams make this an easy listen, and an instant banger,
The aforementioned clean versus screamed vocals is not an easy trope to pull off, often the listener is left feeling slightly jarred, but in this case they go together like honey and Southern Comfort. (Try it if you haven't, I'm not wrong.) And while you're imbibing that, try giving a listen to "Cut Me Open".
