Connecticut punk outfit American Thrills have just released a snappy new single entitled “Misfires.” This track integrates classic 90s-influenced alt-rock with expansive plains of electric guitar, feathery bass, and deliberate, driving drums. The melody is as catchy as any songwriter-pop tune, but sung with the American heartland grit of lead vocals that bloom somewhere between The Gaslight Anthem’s Brian Fallon and Stone Temple Pilots’ Scott Weiland. This bittersweet hymn to a friend gone astray manages to tug at our heartstrings like no other.

We added the new track to our Underground Punk playlist on Spotify. Check out “Misfires” and follow American Thrills for news about their upcoming full-length scheduled to release later this year.
