"Bad" is immediately addictive. Before even getting to the minute mark, the keyboard fell victim to my thumping fingers punching out references about not caring if this song were saltwater taffy stuck between my teeth; I heard it. The best line of 2022.

"I wake up, headrush

I wanna be her toothbrush"

Local Weatherman levy the age old love story of grungy boy and girl in pearls layered over buzzing guitars and drowned out vocals. "Bad" has the earnestness of your first high school crush, but the reality check that now you're 24, and that crush is no longer obligated to sit next to you in Spanish when you break up. All you're left with is a city full of claustrophobia and the gnawing thought that even if you don't see her at the gig, you'll still see her in everything.

If you slow down, you might get sad, but this track keeps you dancing, and yearning, and pining, and stepping outside to smoke a cigarette in the freezing cold, and then dancing again. With inspiration the likes of Pavement, Alex G, and Hum, Local Weatherman are not leaving our radar or molars anytime soon.

You can check out the music video for the new single below. We also added the track to our Underground Punk playlist on Spotify. If you like what you hear, make sure to follow Local Weatherman to stay on top of future releases!
