Musically, I'm a sucker for two things: mind-melting musicianship and cohesive themes. EATEN BY SHARKS have both in spades. I write nautically-themed songs myself, so they're after my heart in a big way on this one.
Ridiculous blast beats, chaotic tempo changes, and a singer that can switch from the deepest growls to the shrillest shrieks on a dime. This band is bringing a heap of talent and intensity to the (water) table, and I, for one, am deeply impressed. Plus, the video features some crazy pit shots complete with people in shark costumes and I really dig when dark, ultra-heavy bands can bring a bit of, dare I say, whimsy to their live performances. (Ooh, they are not gonna like that word.)
