Kids these days. Singing fun, darkly humorous songs about toxic relationships and Stockholm Syndrome, what’ll they think of next? As a 45-year-old, I have been in my share of toxic couplings and I’ve never had even remotely as much fun as I did listening to this song. With “Stockholm”, LA-based band Ominous Duck delivers a punchy, frenetic, fast-paced romp through the horrors and dare I say, humor of kidnapping and chloroform, and I’m here for it.
Give me tight instrumentation coupled with powerful female vocals that are much more Cinder from Tilt than Gwen from No Doubt, and I’ll always give you a bravo. Listen to this if you’re getting over a nasty breakup but also wanna have a little fun with it. Dance like no one is laughing, that’s what I always say.
