TRACK FEATURE: FEELBACKS - "THANKS TO YOU"

In the band's own words, "Thanks To You" (Feat. Saph) is the focus track of the new Feelbacks album that celebrates the 10th Anniversary of the band's first record, and it tells the story of the strength of true love, capable of saving and uplifting a life during its darkest moments.

Did I copy and paste their own words because I'm lazy? Normally the answer would be yes but for once, I simply couldn't have summed up the song any better myself. Could that be a small glimmer of humility you hear? I guess it actually IS, but don't worry, I won't make a habit out of it.

The Italian outfit delivers a very well-written Pop Punk offering with this one and credit must be given for making it 10 years in this business, let alone genre. Very impressive. And the pairing of male and female vocals is a trope that can go incredibly badly, or incredibly well, depending on the artists. Thankfully in this case, it's the latter. Female vocalist Saph has a lovely soaring voice that fits in perfectly with the song's framework, and the two singers blend together beautifully in front of the very professional backing instrumentation.

Quite a few songs have left this crusty old punk feeling hopeful, almost up-beat recently and Feelbacks are no exception. (Did I just use the phrase "up-beat"? Good God, what the hell is happening? Must be Manopause.)

Whatever the case, if you're in the mood for a feel-good (there I go again) tune from the land of ricotta and Ferrari, give this a try, you probably won't even bother to thank me later.

We added the track to our Underground Punk playlist on Spotify.
