“Riddle” is the newest single from L.A. Americana rock band The Morning Yells. In a track that screams 80s new wave from the outset, we feel refreshed by chic acoustic piano, comforted by modern indie pop tropes, and then pleasantly surprised by a bit of country twang. We love all the synth sounds used in this track combined with slightly Americana vocals and gritty electric guitar. It’s like Toto’s “Africa” performed with Tom Petty’s vocals and The Stooges’ Ron Asheton on fuzzed out six-string.
This is a band to keep an eye on in the future as they develop this unique merger of Americana and indie rock music.
