THE DARES RELEASE NEW SINGLE - "EMO REVIVAL"

Isn't music the coolest? Think about it: you can literally give every group the same four musical instruments and everybody comes up with something different. Some use them like weapons to create something hard, pummeling. Others use them to make you laugh and bounce around like an idiot. Still others choose to make something veiled, dreamy, atmospheric.

The Dares are, dare I say, the latter. Just as the title states, this song is, at its core, an "Emo Revival" with a nice pop-punk twist. But something about the cadence and pitch of the vocals and the airy-but-distorted strings makes it seem more. You want some descriptors? Mesmerizing. Meditative. Kind of similar to what the Deftones did for metal. A little artsy, maybe, but it seeps into your veins. It feels profound, and that takes talent. Well done, fellas. Carry on.
