U.K.-based band, Plastic Barricades, just dropped their anthemic new album, We Stayed Indoors. A 10-track ride, this is a powerful new release that takes you on quite a melodic and memorable ride. Equal parts soft and emotional, the band shines by being able to craft a sound that feels nostalgic while at the same time new. What a release!
Each song flows seamlessly into the next here, leaving listeners with an album that feels complete. Instead of a collection of random songs, We Stayed Indoors feels very deliberate. The journey you're taken on is full of poppy vocal flows, soothing instrumentals, spot-on production work, and unique transitions. Boasting a unique blend of alternative rock, indie, shoegaze, garage rock, pop, and straight-up rock n roll, Plastic Barricades stands out by being able to blend so many influences with their own style to deliver such a diverse sound.
The band has been busy steadily releasing music over the last few years, and this album led us to check out the rest of their discography. We Stayed Indoors shows some serious growth from the band. Not just in terms of production, but overall writing style. Their discography is impressive though. So if you dig what you hear, and you want to hear more, you're in luck.
You can jam along to the new album in its entirety below. We also added a couple of our personal favorites to our Underground Indie & Alternative playlist on Spotify. If you like what you hear, make sure to follow Plastic Barricades so you can stay on top of what else they have going on. Enjoy!
