Kill the Clock from Buffalo, NY

HU: How long have you been a band?

KTC: We’ve been playing shows with different lineups for quite some time. However, it wasn’t until 2016, when we released our EP To All My Friends and Family that we started touring and taking things more seriously.

HU: As a band, who are some of your major influences?

KTC: We all have different tastes, but I think you can definitely hear bands like Sum 41, Alkaline Trio and Taking Back Sunday in our music.

HU: What is your favorite hometown venue?

KTC: Our favorite venue in Buffalo at the moment is probably Mohawk Place. However, we also consider Fredonia, NY to be our second hometown. That’s where most of us went to college. There’s a venue there called BJ’s, and those shows are always our favorites.

HU: How did you get your band name?

KTC: Dan: “My brother Darren created a band in the video game Rock Band called Kill The Clock. I couldn’t think of anything better at the time so I just stole it from him. He’s a hockey player, so it’s kinda just a hockey/sports reference.”

HU: Who is your favorite local band to play with?

KTC: We are very lucky to be a band from Buffalo right now. There are so many amazing bands on the rise. If we had to pick just one, it’d probably be a band called Ghostpool. They’re a sick punk rock band that’s been around for not even a year, and are already doing sick things. They have an EP out, and are releasing new music soon. Check them out.

HU: Best show you ever played?

KTC: Our most fun/memorable gig was probably our release show for TAMFAF at BJ’s (Fredonia) in October of 2016. It kind of was a turning point for us as a band. We realized that there are people who actually like us. We also had the opportunity last summer to open up for Theory of a Deadman at Canalside in downtown Buffalo. Going from dive bars with a 200 cap, to a huge outdoor stage in front of thousands of people was a surreal experience for a complete DIY band.

HU: What's your favorite part about touring?

KTC: Every tour is more fun than the last. We’ve been able to play new music every time, and that’s always exciting and keeps the feeling fre$h.

HU: Any major news to share?

KTC: No official announcements planned as of yet. We just released a new song “Worry” that’s the first single off a new 6 song EP. We’re hopefully going to be putting that out in late Fall. We’ll also be announcing another tour by the end of September.
