This emerging wave of "Nu-Punk" is risky. Most of the tracks released sound like the same recycled pop formula used over and over, and then there are also tracks released that employ creative songwriting to take the best elements of the style, leaving us with a unique sound. "Anxiety", the lastest effort from HEYIMMANIC accomplished the latter. This thing is hard to take off repeat. From what we can tell, this is only the second single released by the artist. "Anxiety" is quite the first impression. We can't wait to hear what's next.
Fueled by heartfelt lyricism, the track takes you on a journey of heavy hooks and unique transtions, all while being complemented by a beautifully created pop-punk rooted alt hip hop beat. Like we said earlier, "Anxiety" boasts our favorite elements of this new genre. In no way does this track come off as too formulaic or played out. You can really feel the power that HEYIMMANIC put into his vocal performance.
What's the next move for this artist? We're not sure. Hopefully, they have a string of singles ready to fire, because the world is going to want to hear more.
