London-based band, Heelplant, recently dropped their debut single, "Dune". Coming fully equipped with melodic instrumentals under poppy vocal flows and spot-on production, this is a catchy new tune that any fan of the indie/alt-rock world will love. What a debut!
Pulling from elements of alternative rock, grunge, indie rock, shoegaze, and more, the band shines here by delivering a sound that feels nostalgic while at the same time new. That's a very difficult feat to accomplish, especially for a debut. The lyrical work here is clever, and the powerful vocal performance adds a lot of emotion to the overall style. A debut has to be able to grab listeners and make them excited to hear more. By the the "Dune" is over, that was our exact feeling. We're not sure what's coming next, but we are sure that Heelplant is a project that fans of this style need to keep on their radar.
