Ah, early 2000's punk. It was a simpler, happier time when bands could embrace their inner nerd and it was acceptable to shrug off the dense, self-important "rock star" vibe and just have fun. Bands didn't take themselves so seriously and the music was better for it. Remember fun? Remember being playfully offensive and everyone was in on the fact that it was just tongue-in-cheek? What the hell happened, people?
I'll wager that DEADLAST remember, and their debut (and DIY) single "Dramatic Ending" hearkens back to those oft-missed glory days, complete with snark, self-aware humor, and even some video game sound effects thrown in for good measure.
If you long for the days before Sum 41 got all political, if you still burn a candle for Blink 182 before they started leaning waaay too hard into their Cure influences, then you'll love this song as I do. Well done boys, we all need a little levity these days and your special delivery is much appreciated.
