The latest track from SoCal alt reggae group Cydeways is a one-way trip down the jet stream to the south Pacific Ocean. “Gold” mixes that old school 90s reggae vibe with reggae ska horns and smooth hip hop beats to create a one-of-a-kind cheerful pick-me-up. Opening with a simple, sunny acoustic guitar riff and a few rapped verses that come in smooth like waves lapping the hot sand on an ocean front, we’re soon transported to an all-out beach party by a playful chorus with a comfortable vocal melody and groovy horn lines.

Amidst the turbulence of everything today, we genuinely appreciate a track thoughtfully written to be uplifting and sonically pleasing. Drink in this lively song like fresh-squeezed lemonade on a warm vacation day. We’ll be spinning it all season.

We added this track to our Underground Indie & Alternative playlist on Spotify. Bask in “Gold” and chase away those winter blues, then follow Cydeways for more music.
