COUNTING SHEEP RELEASES NEW SINGLE - "CAUGHT IN THE MIDDLE"

Germany has long been known (by those who have been paying attention) to produce some amazingly talented, and perhaps more importantly, original punk bands. Wizo immediately comes to mind-an amazing Fat Wreck band that we all loved, even though we had no idea what they were singing about.

I think we can safely add Counting Sheep to that distinguished list, and their new single "Caught in the Middle" is a great example of why. On the surface, it's just a well-written pop-punk song, but the beautifully intricate guitar work, multiple time signatures and impossibly high vocals take it beyond that. It can be exceptionally difficult to walk the line between highly technical and easily listenable, but the band do it very well, and the end result is a catchy earworm of a song that, upon closer listening, shows some truly impressive playing.
