Not gonna lie... I had no idea how good "Someone Like You" by Adele is. I had no idea until I heard this ripping cover of it by Long Beach punk rock trio, Angry Old Man. Taking the emotional element from the original, the band adds an extra layer of raw power and energy to the hit, leaving listeners with an anthemic banger that's thought to take off repeat.
I've said this a lot, it's hard to deliver a cover song correctly. It's usually either way too different, or way too similar to the original. Angry Old Man shines here by doing the original justice, but at the same time making the song feel like it's their own. That's not an easy thing to accomplish. This cover will now lead fans to check out the rest of their original music, and that's exactly what it's meant to do.
