Houston-based band, As Ghosts, released their debut EP, For The Dead, earlier this year. A 6-track ride that takes you through powerful vocal flows, ripping instrumentals, and a unique blend of styles, this is a solid release that serves as a great introduction to the band's writing style. What a debut!

Boasting an eerie style that's formed through a blend of Punk, Emo, Post-Hardcore, and Alt-Rock elements, the band shines brightly by being able to deliver a sound that feels nostalgic while at the same time new. Heartfelt lyrical work is present in each song, and it's heavily boosted by emotional instrumental work that's paired with it perfectly. For a debut EP, this release feels very mature. It's obvious that As Ghosts have found "their sound".

Each track flows seamlessly into the next on this release. That's a big reason why this album feels so complete. Our only complaint? We wish it was longer! By the time For The Dead is over, all you'll want to do is hear more. That's exactly what an EP is supposed to do. We're not sure what the band has planned next, but we are sure that this is a project that every fan of the genre needs to keep on their radar.

You can check out the EP in its entirety below. We also added a couple of our personal favorite tracks to our Underground Punk playlist on Spotify. If you like what you hear, make sure to follow As Ghosts so you can stay on top of what else they have going on. Enjoy!
