The self-titled EP from U.K. based Indie Rock band, Weekend Punks, is a quick 3 track anthemic burn that leaves a lot left to be desired. Soothing vocal work drives through these tracks, all while you're being handed unique transitions over impressive surf-rock-inspired instrumentals. What a debut!
The band has succeeded in creating their own sound here. Elements of Punk, Surf, Lo-Fi, and Pop Rock mold into the leading themes of Indie and Alternative, leaving us with a powerful release that's hard to take off repeat. By the time this thing is over, all you want to do is hear more... and that's exactly what an EP is supposed to do. We're not sure what these guys have planned next, but we cannot wait to hear more!
We tried to choose a favorite of the three, but we just couldn't. If we did have to narrow down a favorite element from this release, we'd have to say it's the hypnotic vocal and lyrical work that's present through all three tracks.
