"Hopping The Train" is the latest single from Austin, TX-based project, Venustra. This is a very unique track that brings an anthemic and almost un-settling sound to the table. We mean that in a good way... One thing is for sure, this isn't a track that you can fully comprehend with only one listen-through.
Gritty vocal work drives the single through an impressively performed and heavy-handed instrumental. While rooted in the world of metal, there are elements of carnival music that fit into the overall style of the song perfectly. Unique transitions keep the listener on their toes and excited for what's coming next. Spot-on production ties the track together, and before you know it, you're slamming the replay button to take another listen and see what the #$%& just happened.
Props to Venustra for finding "their sound", and constructing it so beautifully. This probably won't be a style for everyone, but this track will undoubtedly capture the band some new and loyal fans. The band already has a pretty impressive discography built, and we're told that more new music is on the way. So, if this is something you dig, then you've got a lot more listening to do!
