TRACK FEATURE: SLOW DRAG - "LINCOLN AVE"
Man, I sure do love dynamic music. So often love songs, songs of longing for "the good old days" are arranged in slow, sad tempos. Painful and depressing, they serve a purpose and I'm not disparaging that, but I'll also submit that it sure is nice to hear an uptempo, rocking love song every now and again too.
With their new offering "Lincoln Ave", Slow Drag proves they're anything but what their name implies. Sentimental, romantic emo delivered by a very capable group of talented musicians? Sure. Solid emo vocals delivered by someone who makes you feel the longing and romance? Also check. But what sets this band apart is delivery. This is a fun, rocking song and it's enjoyable too. So while your heart is pining for the one that got away, the things left unsaid, it's also beating twice as fast as it was before you hit play, and I dig that.
