TRACK FEATURE: HER NAME WAS CLAIRE - "BATTERED AND BROKEN"

Undulating time signatures collide with dual male and female vocals to create a song that is equal parts heavy and soft, sour and sweet. It's as if the listener alternates between a really good massage and a speedbag pummeling, and that's a compliment.
Her Name Was Claire's new single, "Battered and Broken" (I prefer mine battered and deep fried. Ba-dum-pish.) utilizes considerable tools and talent to create a sound that's not quite emo, not quite hard rock and not quite hardcore, but manages to wield elements of all three with impressive dexterity. Plus, the theme seems to be the importance of taking it easy on yourself, and that's a valuable message any day.
Great range and delivery from both vocalists and truly impressive musicianship make this an easily enjoyable and energizing listen, but don't take my word for it, have a go and get back to me. I'm gonna relax and make some mozzarella sticks.
We added the track to our Underground Punk playlist on Spotify.
