"Not To Go", the 2021 single from Akron, Ohio pop-punkers, Detention, is a catchy and fun track that brings a few different elements under the punk rock umbrella to the table. While this track is pop-punk at heart, we also hear elements of ska, emo, and alternative rock blended in. Overall, we're left with a refreshing and brightening track that's easy to leave on repeat.
Hypnotic vocal work leads the way here while you're thrown into a journey of big and poppy hooks, spot-on pop-punk instrumentals, and on-point production. The band has been busy over the last couple of years. From what we can tell, they have a couple of EP's and a string of catchy singles in their discography. We're not sure what's next for Detention, but this is definitely a band that you're going to want to keep your eye on.
