Toronto-based thrash band The Slime delivers a ripping new single with “We Shine.” It’s a careening 60 second rickety rollercoaster ride brimming with hot drum fills, crashy cymbals, cutting bass, dirty guitar, and distinctive hardcore vocals. And we’re not talking about one of those sleek stainless steel roller coasters at the newest Six Flags location. No, we’re talking about the rundown, rotting wood coaster from the abandoned amusement park three towns over, where the coaster track is full of rusty nails at odd angles and the track’s sudden jerking motions abruptly slam you from side to side in the car. This track is just like that - obviously dangerous, but still kind of fun. We’re gonna need a whole album of these thrashers to set as the most jarring alarm clock tones you’ve ever heard.
