London-based alt rock band The Others Are Dead, Steve are back with another ear-catching single entitled “Cats Can Fly.” The simple, yet striking intro of drums and bass are like a dark version of “My Sharona” - somehow dangerous as well as groovy. Add in synthesized guitar, mesmerizing punk rock vocals, and a smattering of well-arranged eerie backing vox, and the song becomes a truly enchanting ride. It’s the sort of soundtrack we’d imagine played during the adult version of Snow White’s Scary Adventures ride at Disney World, perhaps cross-faded into the sickly sweet “Dear Prince” by 2000s rock quartet Cherry Boom, poison apple and all.
