A debut is important for a band. It's the first impression listeners have to understand the style and feeling that the tracks are supposed to convey. "Won't Be Leaving Here Today" from Portland-based Indie/Punk trio The Holdout is quite the debut. At 9 tracks long, this album takes you on quite the journey of catchy vocal work, ripping guitars, anthemic instrumental, and unique transitions.
The band really shines here by blending elements of different genres together. Punk, Grunge, Indie, and Garage Rock all live together in this album. The vibes that we're presented with are very diverse as well. Melancholic riffs are expanding on by bright and shiny hooks, leaving us with an album that's all too easy to leave on repeat.
