Sometimes, less is more. Remember that, kids. Just because you CAN doesn't automatically mean you SHOULD and nowhere is that more apparent than in music. There's nothing wrong with the old, "look how well I shred" approach, just keep in mind that a little self-editing goes a long way as well.
"Restless", the new offering from the pop-punk outfit SOSA THE SODA is a great example of that idea. It's a simple, well-executed, mid-tempo number with a catchy chorus and thoughtful lyrics lamenting all the wasted time, but emphasizing wasting no more of it in the future. (At least that's what I took from it.)
It's a classic, windows-down-on-the-highway type of song that doesn't take itself too seriously and feels like a nice, reassuring blanket. And who doesn't love that?
