U.K.-based band, Red Telephone, recently delivered their powerful debut album, Hollowing Out. A 10-track ride full of enjoyable moments, this is a dynamic new release that's way too easy to leave on repeat. What a debut!
Blending elements of indie, alternative, shoegaze, post-punk, and more, the band really shines by crafting a sound that's both nostalgic and refreshing. Each track is equipped with hypnotic vocal flows, melodic instrumentals, unique transitions, and spot-on production work. Sometimes a band's debut can feel more like a random set of songs instead of a complete unit. This is not the case with Red Telephone. Best enjoyed from start to finish, Hollowing Out is a carefully orchestrated excursion that feels very finished.
We're not sure what the band has planned next, but it's obvious they've found "their sound". It's always great to hear something like this. You can hear the influences, but they've succeeded in adding in their own sound to leave listeners with a new style that will keep you coming back for more.
You can check out the album in its entirety below. We also added a couple of tracks to our Underground Indie & Alternative playlist on Spotify. If you like what you hear, make sure to follow Red Telephone so you can keep them on your radar!
