Washington D.C. based Indie Punk band No Pterodactyls just released their new debut album "The Most Important Thing". Overall this is an impressive release from the band, and hard to believe it's their debut! It's a longer burn, at 14 songs, but it doesn't drag on at all. This release really shows that the band knows "their sound", and each song on the album is an example of it.
Our personal favorite, "Wrong Drugs" was added to our Underground Indie & Alternative playlist on Spotify as soon as we heard it. The band hilariously describes their style as "What would happen if indie rock bumped into punk rock at the bar and bought it a beer." While that is funny, it's also dead on! They do a great job at blending elements here to ultimately leave the listener with a unique and diverse album.
While a lot of the album has a fun and dance-along sound, there's also more emotional sounding tracks on this release. Their song "Class Five" is a great example of that. We're not sure what the band has planned next, but this release has guaranteed that we'll be sticking around to find out.
