Ahh, skate punk. Give me a quick galloping beat and a catchy, half-time chorus and you're after my own black, whiskey-pickled heart. Lamonta serves up an infinitely listenable sing-along with "Addicted", and it's worthy of attention if you're a fan of that classic Fat Wreck sound. The vocals are a perfect fit for the framework provided by the tight, even musicianship, and this one'll get your blood flowing in a way that only up-tempo punk can.
The message seems to be that we all can be addicted to any number of things, as one infatuation replaces another. Anything can be a drug if the problem resides within, and as we all know, the drugs always win. The change has to similarly come from within, and Lamonta should be applauded for conveying that sentiment in a well wrapped earworm of a package. Like a nice strong cup of Joe or a cold shower, "Addicted" will get your blood flowing properly again and motivate the listener to go out and take on the world. Now if you'll excuse me, I've just decided to try out this whole squirrel suit skydiving thing I've been hearing so much about. And you already know what'll be in my headphones.
