“Back to Austin” is the newest release from Bat City five-piece Halfway Atlantic. It’s an anthemic pop punk melody featuring pleasant pop vocals, sweet guitars, soft bass, and punchy drums. The lyrics are catchy throughout, but especially in the chorus - “I’m driving back to Austin but I won’t be there for you.” It’s something we could imagine screaming along to whilst arm in arm with a crowd of friends and strangers at a Warped Tour. The band describes the track as an attempt to make “the happiest sounding sad song,” and we concur.
