"forest/fire" is a two-track release from U.K. based band, videotapes. that was put out last October. Boasting an anthemic blend of styles, this short but wild ride serves as an impressive display of the band's songwriting skills. What a release!
The first track on the release, "fire", immediately pulls you in with an infectious vibe that features raw and emotional instrumental work. Hypnotic vocals take you on a journey of unique transitions and spot-on production. When the song ends, all you want to do is hear more. It's at this point that you're handed the second song on the release, "fire".
A slightly darker tone, track two is full of heavy guitars and big catchy hooks. The two songs play off of each other so well. It's way too easy to leave this release on repeat. Our ONLY complaint is that it's not longer! "forest/fire" has served as an amazing introduction to the band's sound. We can't wait to hear what they have planned next, and we're confident any fan of the genre will feel the same after giving this a spin.
