ALBUM FEATURE: KINGFISHER - "MACONDO"

Sweden-based trio, Kingfisher, recently dropped their new album, Macondo. A beautifully crafted 9-track ride, this is a dynamic new release that boasts and anthemic blend of styles. Each track comes fully equipped with poppy vocal flows, melodic instrumentals, and spot-on production work. What a release!

Blending elements of Indie, Alternative, Pop, Garage, and straight-up Rock n Roll, the band shines brightly here by being able to deliver a sound that feels nostalgic while at the same time new. You're drawn in from the first track, and from there, the journey takes you in and out of soothing rhythms and hypnotic songwriting. Each track flows seamlessly into the next here, and this is probably a big reason why Macondo feels so complete and full. Instead of just a collection of singles, this album feels like a carefully orchestrated release that'll leave you wanting more.

We're not sure what the band has planned next, but Kingfisher has been on our radar for a while now, and we can't wait to see what kind of attention this album continues to bring them. It's always refreshing to come across a new sound that feels this passionate and relatable. Definitely a defining trait in the band's sound!

You can jam along to the new album in its entirety below. We also added a couple of our personal favorites to our Underground Indie & Alternative playlist on Spotify. If you like what you hear, make sure to follow Kingfisher so you can stay on top of what else they have going on. Enjoy!
