Toronto rock band Napoleon is back with a riveting single entitled “Carve Another Scar.” Now, this is a cool track. The step-wise chord progression and melody of the chorus is notably unique, while the thick, round sound of the guitars and drums and the ultra-catchy bass lines turn this heavy rock-metal style song into a danceable number, albeit more of a danse macabre...a fiendish frenzy before one’s hellish demise at the Masque of the Red Death.

We appreciate the great attention to detail displayed in the guitar’s tangy turnaround riffs between verse lines and the doubled octave vocals, a smart touch that pushes the lead melody to the forefront. Overall, this is a cleanly constructed track that stands out due to its interesting chord and melody lines, as well as its flawless production.

Dare to listen to “Carve Another Scar” below and then follow Napoleon for more updates. We also added this track to our Underground Punk playlist on Spotify.
