VIDEO FEATURE: FRIEND - "ALL THE MONEY IN THE WORLD"

Dirty, Lo-Fi garage rock will always have a special place in my heart, and that’s a fact. Bands like the White Stripes and The Strokes have proven how much fun it can be.

There are, however, quite a few bands that seek to camouflage their bad musicianship in the muddled mess and that I cannot stand for. Luckily, that is not the case with FRIEND. They’re talented as hell and much, much cooler than your band. (I know your band, don’t argue with me.)

All the Money in the World” is a catchy track with angular guitars and slightly snide vocals and that’s exactly what we want in this instance. This Philly-based band is pushing their third album, Dog Eat Dog and for my money, they’ve hit the nail on the head. And while I usually cringe at bands’ self-labeling their own genre, I’ve gotta say that “goblin punk” fits better than I’d like to admit. (Although my first thought was “hehe, gobblin’ these nuts”, that’s only because I have the brain of a very simple, husky child.) Check them out right now and tell me what you think. I’ll be up, and I’ll be alone because I too, am very uncool.
