“Bed Head Fever" is the raw and candid new single from stirring acoustic songwriter Matty Reynolds. We want to ask - where the hell was this music when we were in college? Sure, back in the mid-2000s, acoustic indie music was college radio bread and butter. But that was all joyful, happy joints, not this totally transparent, “I fell down the stairs, cracked my skull, and probably scared the hell out of a bunch of underclassers after blacking out at that rager of a house show last night,” dark and offhandedly eloquent jangly six-string writing.
Here, Reynolds successfully blends the simple, smooth melodies and jaunty rhythmic patterns of acoustic indie pop with the perilous trainhopping energy and real-life thematic material of folk punk. A sort of Lumineers meets Mischief Brew. Listen to this track immediately and thank us later.
We added this track to our Underground Indie & Alternative playlist on Spotify. Jam out to “Bed Head Fever,” then follow Matty Reynolds for more music.
