Akron-based punk/pop-punkers, Detention, just released their new single, "Faded, Not Jaded". Boasting a heavy-handed instrumental, hypnotic vocal flows, and an infectious energy that renders you incapable of sitting still, this is a powerful track that you want to experience over and over.
Elements of post-hardcore show their face as you're occasionally treated to gritty vocals and quick breakdowns. This is a huge element of the band's sound that we found so appealing. While their sound falls under the Punk umbrella, and we can hear elements reminiscent of some major players in the scene, the band ultimately blends their influences with their own style. The end result is a nostalgic track that's at the same time refreshing. We can't wait to see what they have planned. Keep an eye on Detention. We definitely will be.
