“Traitors” is the newest single from Dubai based metalcore ensemble Coat of Arms. The piece opens with an appealing lofi vibe… and we’re not sure what we were expecting after that, but it was not a sudden plunge into full on heaviness. The surprise vocal entry propels the listener into an intense head banging groove. It’s a cool mix between ambient electronic backing track and pure djenty metalcore that results in a unique and dramatic sound.
The song’s chorus is especially haunting with interplay between an excellent melodic vocal line and syncopated, absolutely sordid vocals. And we love the funky metal guitar riff that closes out the track.
